Community Portrait

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

Are you interested in promoting the arts?

Do you have skills you would like to share with others?

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is proud to announce the launch of the Community Portrait Project.

The Community Portrait Project encourages an intergenerational dialogue through art and has been developed to bring together skilled youth (16-29) and seniors (55+).

Participants will take part in a series of workshops which will include music, visual arts, creative writing and more.  Participants will share their skills with the group and take on leadership roles in the development of art based programming which we will then share with the community.  Participants will also help develop an exhibition entitled “A Community Portrait” which will be displayed at the AGNS.

Starting September 24th, workshops will run Saturday afternoons from 1:00 until 3:00 pm.
